The idea behind Bluetrain 21 was to find a link between 100 years of motorsport history and X-Box 360 online racing of tomorrow.
The result was the original cockpit, where the driver can connect his X-Box360 and use it to control all the vehicle functions. Accoding tothe author, “This enables the driver to prove his virtual records in real life and vice-versa.”
A display inside the helmet provides the optical information. The windows are preseneeded in terms of function any more, but only for entertainment and safety reasons.
The interior is minimalistic and can be tailored to suit the driver’s needs, since all the personal data can be stored on the X-Box and transferred to another vehicle.
The design language picks combines traditional automotive elements with futuristic features: the whole car is built on a central structure that starts in the front and ends up in front of the rear wheel.
Photovoltaic collectors located on the roof supply the energy that feeds an alternative drivetrain, arranged like a computer case for easy maintainence.

The name “Bluetrain 21” was inspired by what Paolo Corcagnani considers great examples of automotive gambling and forward thinking: the Bentley Speed Six (1925) and Woolf Barnato’s famous bet.
