DesignerTechniques, the new car design website owned by Allan MacDonald and reviewed by Car Body Design last May, has started its first Design Competition.

The competition is open to anybody, regardless of age or work experience. However, judging will take both these elements into consideration. DesignerTechniques particularly encourages entries from students or people aiming to study car design.

The competition theme is not described as a full scenario: it is defined by seven keywords:

COMMUNICATION, SPORTS, FAMILY, MTV, NATURE, CLOTHING, TECHNOLOGY.

Concept Design SketchDesigners can choose three words and create their vehicle around them.

The competition deadline is Monday 31 July 2006.

Awards

The top three entrants will have their work showcased on the DesignerTechniques website, along with comments from the design profession judges.

The winning entry will also receive a copy of "How to Design cars like a Pro", by Tony Lewin, as well as a 150USD gift voucher for www.dickblick.com art supplies.
