LA Auto Show – Design Challenge entries

The main difference with many concept vehicles displayed at the traditional Auto Shows is that all these designs were created with no production constraints in mind.

Acura FCX 2020 Le Mans – A racing car powered by fuel cell technology.

Audi Dynamic Space Frame – Presents a possible evolution of the Audi Space Frame for the next future (2015): a single fluid-electrical component that integrates the chassis, transmission and electrical/electronic controls.

Honda Extreme concept – features a honeycomb polycarbonate chassis that can be combined with different body styles to achieve a deep customization of the vehicle.

GMC Hummer O2 – can convert carbon dioxide into oxygen

Toyota RLV (Renewable Lifestyle Vehicle) – A lightweight vehicle where driver can swith between an electric-driven and a human-driven mode (by pedaling).

Kia Sandstorm – A modern interpretationof the Dune Buggy Concept in a hybrid vehicle equipped with a bioelectric diesel with fully-rechargable NiMH battery system and a solar-powered cooling system.

Mini BioMoke – A concept created by BMW’s DesignWorks USA, with a body made from a single sheet of biodegradable sandwich paneling impregnated with palm tree seeds.

Mercedes-Benz REcy – a car that is 100% recyclableand adopts body panels made out of laminated wood.

Volkswagen NanoSpyder – Thanks to nanotechnology, this concept is "capable of being assembled, disassembled and reassembled on a microscopic level."
