The fourth edition of the Mini Design Awards competition was started in December 2007 with the theme "The Future of the City: the environment – giving value to water".
The partners of the event are the Istituto Europeo di Design (IED) and ADI (Associazione per il Disegno Industriale – Industrial Design Association).
Participants include 33 invited designers under 35 years. For the first time the contest is also open to creative designers and artists who can register and submit their work to www.minidesignaward.it within 10 July 2008.
The exhibition of the final works will take place in Rome on next fall.
In order to promote the event at the Milan Design Week (15-21 April 2008) Mini will have an information point in front of the Triennale and a video presentation facility at the Teatro Agorà of the Triennale Design Museum.
The video on display will include interviews with jury members of the contest: Gillo Dorfles, art critic, Aldo Colonetti, Scientific Director at the Istituto Europeo di Design, Michele De Lucchi, architect and designer, Carlo Forcolini, President of ADI (Associazione Disegno Industriale), Marzio Galeotti, professor at the Università degli Studi di Milano, Enrico Testa, President of Roma Metropolitane.
On the occasion of the Design Week, MINI will also participate as official partner of the "Green Energy Design" exhibition, promoted by Interni magazine for the FuoriSalone 2008 event and will have two temporary shops of made in Italy design objects, organized in collaboration with gspot.
