Following the usual design philosophy of the VW Group, the design previewed by the sketches is rather evolutionary.
Compared with the sketches created for the current model back in 2010, the new images showcase a sleeker, lower stance and a surface treatment that uses more angular lines – something already seen in the recent T-ROC and CrossBlue Coupe concept cars.
Among the new features are the new grille and the headlights with twin square light units in place of the round ones of the current generation – a styling element shared with the current Golf VII.

The new Passat (European specification) is scheduled to make its world debut at the 2014 Paris Auto Show in October, while the US model is expected a couple of years later.
