The Kubang Concept was presented by Maserati at the recent Frankfurt Motor Show as a preview of a production luxury SUV expected for 2013.
Now the Italian carmaker has released a couple of videos (reported below) and a microsite dedicated to the model, which features an extensive gallery of design sketches and renderings.

these designers are so adroit…
Really? They put some curves and a quattroporte grille on a Jeep Cherokee. Also why didn’t they do this 10 years ago like Porsche did?
They are all excellent renderings and design proposals, the only problem is the branding. They all look like Hyundais with Audi lamps, carrying a Maserati grill. A design manager really needs to understand the company he works for and transmit that to his team, guiding the designers in the right direction. Most of the time he also needs to show and convince non creative people in the company, like marketing, sales, financial, etc. the creative solutions appropriate for the brand. All this perhaps didn’t happen here. Very odd for a company like Maserati, but very common for the way most companies are run today.
I appreciate the designers work. Need to be more creative.
